Wearishagon Elementary school was the only time I ever took an art class. Up to a certain grade it was required, at least before you were allowed to take music instead. But I loved art surprisingly, and loved to draw. I felt the proudest of myself when I drew things that had clearly come out of my mind and no one else's – different elements of dragons and mash-ups of strange creatures buried in the back of my mind. Our art teacher allowed us all to take something we had drawn and have it laminated, which was like having the story you wrote in English being made into a plastic-bound book and displayed in the library. Needless to say, it was exciting
